This Sunday, over 1,000 runners will take to Kent Avenue to rip the world famous Brooklyn Mile.
We're sponsoring the Women's and Men's Open Heats and throwing a not-so-little after party at Tailgate right up the street (register here).
Here's all the details you need to know... and if we missed anything, slide in our DM's and we'll get you the answer.
Bib Pickup
Snag your bib from Brooklyn Running Co. (Williamsburg location) any time from 11am to 7pm Friday and Saturday. If you can't get there beforehand, you can stop by the bib pickup tent in the festival area on North 8th and Kent the morning of.
The Course
- Start: Between South 10th and 11th on Kent Ave
- Finish: Between North 8th and 9th on Kent Ave
The route is a straight line from South to North Williamsburg. It's slightly curvy and mildly "hilly" (read: there's long-ish ups and ~downs). The avenue crowns a bit to the left, so you'll want to stay in the center of the street for a flatter cruise. The road will be clear of all cars and Citi Bikes for your ripping pleasure.
At the quarter mile mark you'll charge under the Williamsburg bridge and then promptly pass Domino Park on your left. With a half-mile to go, the crowd thickens on both sides with cheer squads, drum-lines, and onlookers standing close enough to reach out and high-five you.
With a tenth of a mile remaining, racers will get funneled into a tighter finish zone. It's here you'll have to be cautious of not getting cut off / cutting off anyone as you kick it home.
The Open Field
The Bandit Women's and Men's Open Heats will have ~300-500 racers each. We spoke with three runners who are looking to book themselves a nice PR.

Trials of Miles Fast Movers Field
The whole day is about going fast and we’re super pumped about some of the pros that will be out there competing in the Fast Movers Field. Last year was a helluva show and this year is lining up to be just as exciting. See the full Men's and Women's fields here.
Festival Area
- Open: 7:30am
- Close: 2:00pm
Stop by the Bandit tent to grab your after party wristband and/or to get a picture next to your shiny new PR with our timer clock. Pics will be uploaded directly to a Dropbox for you to download and post up!

The After Party
The Bandit after party is just a couple blocks away from the finish line at Tailgate Bar (86 North 11th).

- Closes: 2:00am (technically, but we'll be entertaining until ~6ish)
