Our Vento™ performance fabric that debuted this Spring represents our latest and greatest iteration on our non-compression product (shorts, singlets, tees). While our earliest fabrics Airware ™ and Litewave ™ received high-praise in many areas including chafe-prevention and softness, one consistent area of improvement was in the ventilation and moisture-wicking department.
So, back in July 2023 we began wear-testing 6 new fabrics we had identified as potential fits. The first thing we did was have the sweatiest human we know (shoutout to our boy Greg) take the now Vento ™ short for a hot summer long run and finish at Bandit HQ. When he returned, it was some sort of running performance fabric miracle. He was absolutely drenched with sweat, yet the shorts we're bone-dry.
The wear-testing continued and the results maintained...
This first wear-testing version did not have the perforation that Vento™ does today. We added that to further promote airflow and breathability. So multiple these reactions by at least two, right? More recently from Mr. Greer...

From a sketch perspective, the silhouette of the shorts remained almost exactly the same, aside from minor updates based on community feedback. For example, in the 3" Split Shorts, we doubled the internal storage from 2 to 4 gel-sized pockets.
