RACE REGISTRATION FAQS
Who can register for the race?
Anyone who is 18 or older on race day (July 5, 2025) and medically fit to participate.
Is my entry fee refundable if I cannot race?
No, your entry fee is not refundable. However, special consideration will be offered to participants who need a refund due to medical issues, becoming pregnant, recently pregnant, or postpartum.

If the event sells out, will there be a waiting list?
Yes, there will be a waiting list.
How can I change and update my personal information after registering?
Are bib transfers allowed?
No, bib transfers are not allowed.
When can I collect my bib?
You will be able to collect your bib early during race week and on race day (July 5). Details will be announced closer to the event.
Can I register as a non-binary athlete?
Yes! You may register as a non-binary athlete. Please note you must enter the gender category in accordance to World Athletics guidelines.
Can I register as a Transgender or DSD Athlete?
Yes. Please note you must enter the gender category in accordance to World Athletics guidelines.
RACE FORMAT FAQS
What level of runner is this race for?
This race is specifically designed to be exciting and fun for runners of all ability levels!
How will I know which 5k Open Race I am in?
You will be informed via email closer to race day which Open Race you will be in. We will also publish start lists.
Will there be separate Men’s and Women’s fields?
Yes, we will have separate Men's and Women's fields. There will be four 5K Open Races per gender with 250 runners each. Each gender will have a B Final and a Super Final.
Will there be a team competition?
Yes! bring the full squad out. Stay tuned for details.
Will there be age-groups awards?
No! Age is just a number and all age-groups will be eligible for our overall prizing.
Once I have been assigned to an 5k Open Race, can I move into a different one?
No, after race allocation has been assigned, it is not possible to move to a different race.
Will there be an overall ranking and podium for the 5k Open Races?
Yes, there will be an overall ranking (based on chip time) and podium for the 5k Open Races.
Is there a cutoff time for the 5k Open Races?
The official cutoff time for the 5k Open Races is 40 minutes.
Will there be a break between the 5k Open Races and the 3k Finals?
Yes, there will be a break for athletes to rest and recover between the 5k Open Races and the 3k Finals. The time gap will vary depending on which Open Race you are in and which Final you reach. This information will be clearly communicated closer to race day.
How will I know if I have made it to the 3k Finals?
The start lists for the Super Final and B Final will be published online and posted on the results board at the event. Information on the Race Format can be found within this section of the FAQs.
I’m unlikely to qualify for the 3k Finals. Is it still worth racing?
Yes! The 5k Open Races are designed to be a fun and competitive stand alone event. There will be an overall ranking for the 5k competition.
Can I leave the venue after my 5k Open Race and return for my 3k Final?
Free movement is allowed upon entering and exiting the race venue but it is the athlete’s responsibility to be on time for their respective race.
How will start positions be determined for the Super Final?
There will be a seeding system for the Super Final, this will be in the form of a starting grid based on your 5k Open Race finishing position.
The 5k Open Races will not have a seeding system. We recommend lining up early if you want to be at the front for the start.
Will there be anti-doping controls?
We reserve the right to implement anti-doping controls. Any athlete participating may be subject to urine testing for any substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
What prizes will be awarded?
The prize list and purse will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned!
GENERAL FAQS
How much does it cost to spectate?
Nothing! The event is free for spectators of all ages. We encourage the public to attend and cheer on the athletes.
Will food and drinks be available at the venue?
Spectators and athletes will be able to purchase food and beverages at the venue. Additionally there will be sports nutrition available for athletes.
Will there be an afterparty?
Yes, the afterparty will continue until midnight on race day. More details will be announced closer to race day!
How do I get to the Brooklyn Storehouse?
All attendees, whether arriving by car, bike, or foot, will need to enter via the Clymer Street Gate on Kent Avenue.
If you are traveling by Subway, the closest station is Marcy Avenue (a 10-minute walk to the venue) and is serviced by the J and M trains.
There is no parking available inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Will bag check be available?
Yes, bag check will be available to athletes and easily accessible at the event.
Can I volunteer?
Yes, volunteer registration will open closer to the event. Stay tuned for more details.
Can adaptive athletes/athletes with disability participate?
