This coming weekend, Berlin will host the first World Major Marathon of the 2022 marathoning season. It’s going to be an absolute vibe, with the GOAT himself running for the first time since 2013, along with the first wave of Bandit OTQ hopefuls.
The marathon could not be more picturesque, starting and ending at the Brandenburg Gate, and then makes its way through the twelve boroughs of Berlin. With over 20K participants in 2021 and estimating more this year, the race won’t disappoint runners and spectators alike.
But while you’re in Berlin, what should you do? We put together a couple spots for you to checkout.

Running
In Ringbahn We Trust FKT
Look, we know you’re there to crush a marathon, but if you got more gas in the tank why not try to beat an FKT. This 44km loop looks not only doable, but a nice route through the Berlin neighborhoods that the marathon passes through. With an FKT of 4h 56m 48s, we hope there are some takers.
Shopping
Voo Berlin

Bars to visit
BRLO Brewery

Come for the beer, stay for the mac and cheese (and the Bandit post-marathon drinks.) Founded in 2014, BRLO brews an array of beer offerings that will appease the biggest beer snobs and provides brews to people who just want a beer.
Dicke Wirtin
Address: Carmerstraße 9, 10623 Berlin, Germany
There’s honestly nothing like a classic ol’ pub. Dicke Wirtin has a solid selection of draught beers and hearty German food. Crowd is mostly local and relaxed, so come for chill hangs and good conversation.
Green Door
Address: Winterfeldtstraße 50, 10781 Berlin, Germany
If Dicke Wirtin is on the traditional end of the spectrum, Green Door is on the other end. You need to ring the doorbell next to the green door to get in, wait time may take a minute or two. But upon entering you'll find a solid retro atmosphere, creative cocktails, and attentive bartenders.
