Round 2 of Trials of Mile's "Chase the Throne" took the competition 1.14 miles over the Williamsburg bridge. Alana Levy, rocking the aptly named "OG Run for It" socks, messed around and set the course record. Did we mention it was 20 degrees out? Not too shabby.
On December 17th, Winter Storm Gail pounded the Northeast with over a foot of snow. While most sane people were bunkered up at home with a mug of hot chocolate, a puzzle, and a heavy slate of Netflix, endurance junkie and Nike Running and Brooklyn Track Club Coach, Jes Woods, opted for the opposite. Dennis Serna was born and raised in Queens, NY. Perpetually searching for the next endurance challenge and a way to give back, Dennis decided to attempt to clock in the fastest known time (supported) around the "Manhattan Loop" (50km) to raise money for the Council of People’s Organization (COPO), which aims to "assist low-income immigrant families, particularly South Asians and Muslims, to reach their full potential as residents of New York City." On December 20, 2020, in a pair of the OG Run For It Bandit Socks, Dennis successfully set the record with a time of 3:51:49 and raised an incredible $12,465 for COPO.
